Just steps from Kofukuji Temple, the Ganrinin district once housed over 200 geisha. Today, only Tsuruya remains — its aged timber and andon lanterns holding a world that the modern city forgot.
興福寺からほど近い元林院の街。全盛期には200名を超える芸妓が賑わった奈良最大の花街も、今は「つるや」ただ一軒。菊乃女将が守り続ける、その空気を感じに来てください。

The Artists 芸舞妓紹介
A native of Osaka, Kikuno trained for three years in Nara's hanamachi before her maiko debut in 1990. She became a full geisha in 1996, and has since served as Nara's sole active geisha for nearly four decades. A Hanayagi-ryu dance master, she now performs and personally hosts every guest at Tsuruya.
大阪出身。中学卒業後に奈良で3年間の修行を経て、平成2年（1990年）に舞妓御披露目。平成8年（1996年）に芸妓へ。39年間この道一筋、奈良唯一の芸妓として花柳界を守り続け、現在も現役で活躍する数え53歳。

小麦粉を一切使わない純粋な十割蕎麦。夜はお茶屋BARに変わる同じ空間で、昼は本格蕎麦をお楽しみください。
The same space transforms into the Ochaya BAR in the evening — where geisha culture comes alive over sake and conversation. 昼は蕎麦屋、夜はお茶屋BAR。同じ空間が二つの顔を持ちます。

Reserve Kikuno for your private evening. The rate covers 2 hours of her time, in formal dress, at your table.

Whether it's your first time or you've been coming for years — Kikuno is ready. The Ochaya BAR operates by reservation only. Soba lunch is walk-in welcome.
